 Parent Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

My child has never skied before. Is previous experience required?

Not at all! In fact, the majority of our pupils on these trips are complete beginners. On the first morning, professional instructors assess every pupil and place them into groups based on their ability. Whether they are learning to put on boots for the first time or perfecting their parallel turns, they will be in a group that matches their pace.

How are the Pupils supervised?

Pupil safety is our absolute priority. During the day, pupils are under the supervision of qualified ski instructors. School staff meet the groups for lunch and some staff may ski with the group. In the evenings, staff organise and supervise all après-ski activities and mealtimes. We operate a high staff-to-pupil ratio to ensure pastoral care is maintained 24/7.

What happens if my child is injured or unwell?

We travel with comprehensive travel and winter sports insurance. In the event of an injury on the slopes, the local piste rescue teams are exceptional. A member of school staff will always accompany a pupil if medical attention is required. We also carry school medical kits for minor ailments, and we ask parents to declare all medical needs prior to travel.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Yes. The hotels we select are experienced in catering to school groups. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free diets, as well as other dietary requirements.  Please ensure these are detailed clearly on the medical consent form so we can inform the hotel kitchen in advance.

What about mobile phones and staying in touch?

Pupils are allowed to bring mobile phones, but we encourage a "digital detox" during ski hours to focus on the sport and surroundings. Pupils typically contact home during the designated free time in the evening. Please note that the trip leader will have an emergency contact number which will be shared with you before departure.
